Description
Potassium phenylacetate is an Alkanoic acid that is used to treat cancer and hyperammonemia. It is also a precursor of glycine, which is a Monocarboxylic acid that can be used as a Carbon source. Potassium phenylacetate has been shown to inhibit the formation of reactive oxygen species in cells by acting as a competitive inhibitor of the Enzyme synthetase. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis. Potassium phenylacetate is resistant to high salt, heat, and oxidizing agents, making it ideal for use in Food preservation. This chemical compound has a higher resistance against growth factor deprivation than other alkanoic acids.
