Description
Phosphorous acid, chemically represented as H₃PO₃, is a Diprotic acid, meaning it can donate two protons in an acid-base reaction. It is a white, crystalline solid at room temperature and is moderately soluble in water, forming a mildly acidic solution. Phosphorous acid is less common in nature compared to other phosphorus-containing compounds but plays a critical role in various chemical and industrial processes.
Application
Phosphoric acid is used in agriculture to produce important Phosphate fertilizer (Superphosphate, Potassium dihydrogen phosphate, etc.) raw material. It can also be used for the production of Feed nutrients (mono-calcium phosphate).
Phosphoric acid is an important chemical raw material used in industry. It can produce detergent, pesticide and protophosphate. Production of phosphorous flame retardant raw materials.
Phosphoric acid is used in food, can be used as a food additive, as an acidifier in food, yeast nutrient, can be used as a nutrient enhancer.
Phosphoric acid can be used in the manufacture of drugs containing phosphorus, such as sodium glycerophosphate.
