Sodium silicate, commonly known as Water glass or liquid glass, is a generic name for a family of chemical compounds with the formula (Na₂O)x·(SiO₂)y. These compounds are typically colorless, transparent solids or white powders that are soluble in water. This compound is widely used in various industrial applications, including the formulation of cements, coatings, passive fire protection, textile and lumber processing, manufacture of refractory ceramics, Adhesives, and the production of silica gel.

Application

• Chemicals: Raw material for the manufacture of amorphous silica, silica gel,      molecular screens and white fillers.

• Detergents: Additive for alkalinity control and corrosion inhabition.

• Textiles:Stabilizer in bleaching with hydrogen peroxide.Metal sequestering agent. PH regulator.
