Application

Sodium nitrite has multiple roles in wastewater treatment. Firstly, it can remove organic matter from water by oxidizing it into harmless substances, thereby reducing the organic load and improving the water's clarity and taste. Secondly, Sodium nitrite is effective in treating ammonia nitrogen in water, converting it into harmless nitrogen gas, which reduces the impact of ammonia nitrogen on water quality and the ecological environment. Additionally, sodium nitrite has disinfecting and bactericidal properties; it can disrupt the proteins and nucleic acids within microorganisms, leading to their death and thus serving as a disinfectant.
