Description

Benzene Nitrile, also known as Phenyl Cyanide or Benzonitrile, is a chemical compound with the formula C₆H₅CN. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a distinctive odor and is commonly used as a solvent, intermediate, and chemical reagent in various industrial processes.

Application

1. Used as a pesticide, dye intermediate and solvent antioxidant

2. Used as an intermediate in advanced coatings such as phenyl melamine.

3. It is also an intermediate for synthetic pesticides, aliphatic amines and benzoic acid, and can be used as a solvent for nitrile rubbers, resins, polymers and coatings.

4. Used for dyeing cotton and cotton/cotton blend fabrics.
