Potassium permanganate is a strong oxidizing agent, the chemical formula is KMnO4. It is black purple crystal, with blue metallic luster, odorless, in contact with some organic matter or easy oxide, easy to explode, soluble in water, lye, slightly soluble in methanol, acetone, sulfuric acid. It is widely used as an oxidizing agent in chemical production.

‌as an inhibitor ‌ : Potassium permanganate can be used as an inhibitor of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and pyrite for flotation separation of lead-copper mixed concentrate, copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate and lead-zinc ore.
